Our last English lesson this spring

At the moment we are writing letters to you. We went outside to the school yard to shoot a photo of us. It is a bit cold, -8 degrees Celsius but the sun is shining.

We have winter holiday next week. And we have sports day Friday this week. Pupils could decide which sports they want to do. Most pupils in our class go downhill skiing, some go ice fishing and some have dance lessons.

Many greetings from Finland!

Greetings from Minorca

Hello everyone!

We are students at IES Biel Martí. The high-school is in Ferreries, a small town in the centre of Minorca (Balearic Islands), Spain. We are 13 and 14 years old and some of us live in Ferreries and some others live in Es Mercadal (10 minutes’ ride by bus).

Our high school is very beautiful. There are around 300 students aged 12-18. It is not big, but it is nice. The high school was built in a T-shape. It has 2 floors and 2 playgrounds.

We spend our breaks outside, playing or just chatting. In the bigger playground there is a football pitch and a basketball court. In the other playground, which is smaller, there is a table tennis and a volleyball pitch. We have two breaks. The first one is 20 minutes and the second one is 15 minutes. Our classes are 55 minutes.

In the ground floor there is the reception, the teachers’ staff room, the teachers’ departments, the canteen, the library,  many classrooms, and a technology workshop.
On the second floor there are many classrooms, an assembly hall, there are some laboratories, the music and the art classroom.
Next to the high-school there is a sports centre. It is big and quite new and we share it with the primary school which is just beside us. There we do PE.
Although the school is beautiful, it is a bit old-fashioned and it needs regular maintenance. Yet, it is our school and we love it.
Our course is working on a digital newspaper. Yes! We are journalists. If you want to follow us, you can do it on: donaenona.iesbielmarti.cat

Next week we are celebrating Sant Antoni!! On the 16th of January we are going to join students from different levels and do different activities and workshops together. Most of them are related to our folklore and culture but there are many others that are not. For example, zumba, pilates, yoga or scrapbooking. On the 17th we have a day off because Sant Antoni is the Patron Saint of Minorca.
Kind regards from Minorca ;)

Our School

Greetings from Finland!

Today it's raining and it's windy. Last week we had the first snow of this winter, but now it's melting.
This is our school:

Hello from the cold Finland! We study in Nurmo high school in Seinäjoki, There are about 540 students in our school. We all are from class 7F (it's a sports class). Our class teacher is Sanna Vuorenmaa. We are 22 pupils in our class. Our school is not so big. Our school is weird and funny. There are three corridors in our school (A,B,C) We are going to have a bottle flip competition in our school. We just had our season's first disco here at school, it was quite boring, but maybe next disco will be better.😃
In our school the lessons are 45 minutes and breaks are 15 minutes. We spend the breaks inside.
Senior high school is in the same building. We have two table tennis tables and an arm wrestling table. We had a very famous visitor some weeks ago. A famous vlogger called Roni Back visited our school and told us about vlogging. It was great. This is Roni's channel:

This is our school's Facebook site:

We are a sports class, so we love sports! Come and play floorball with us! 😀
Maybe you could write something about your school and class, too!
